CPA reviewing a corporate tax return with a business owner
Overview

Corporate Tax (T2), done properly.

A T2 return is more than a compliance form. Handled well, it's one of the biggest opportunities you have to keep more of what your corporation earns. We review your full picture: owner compensation, capital purchases, shareholder loans and timing. Then we file a return that is accurate and optimized.

Because we work year-round rather than only at filing time, we flag planning opportunities before your fiscal year closes. That's when they're still worth something.

Questions

Corporate Tax (T2) FAQs.

Have a question that isn't listed? Ask us

When is my corporate tax return due?
Your T2 is due six months after your corporation's fiscal year-end. Any balance owing is generally due two months after year-end, or three months for eligible CCPCs claiming the small business deduction. Interest applies from the payment due date, so we file and plan well ahead of both.
Should I pay myself a salary or dividends?
It depends on your income needs, RRSP and CPP goals, and your corporation's tax position. We model both and recommend the mix that minimizes combined personal and corporate tax for your situation.
Can you help if CRA is reviewing or auditing my corporation?
Yes. We represent clients in CRA reviews and audits. We prepare the documentation, respond to the auditor, and keep you informed in plain language at every step.
